n-Track Studio 1.0 is a multitrack recorder for Windows 95/98/NT: this
program
allows recording, mixing and editing of a virtually unlimited number of
audio
and MIDI tracks.
The program's ease of use makes it perfect for the music hobbyist who
has a
computer and wants to record his music without having to spend hundreds
of
dollars for classic tape recording machines or professional software
packages:
the program exploits today's computing power for realizing (in a much
cheaper
way) functionality that only 2 or three years ago were limited to
professional
or semi-professional studio equipment. All is needed is a full-duplex
sound
card (i.e. capable of simultaneous recording and playback) or two or
more
soundcards.
Real-time audio effects can be applied non-destructively to each track,
allowing the user to listen immediately to the result of a change in the
parameters of an effect. Native effects include echo, chorus,
compression,
while third party standard DirectX audio plug-ins can also be used.
Basic wave
editing operations can be performed from within the program. Volume and
pan
evolution can be programmed by drawing it on the timeline window. When
all the
tracks have been recorded and all the settings are correct, it's
possible to
render (mixdown) all the tracks to a single wave file, to store the song
and
for eventually recording it to a compact disk using a CD-R.
n-Track Studio 1.0 for Windows costs 30$. For more information, visit
the
program's web site (http://n-track.simplenet.com) or contact the author
